During the recent weather catastrophe, power lines and tree limbs were down and across streets.
I must compliment New Havens police and street departments for their swift action in closing and barricading Green Road. There were fallen trees, electrical poles with wires and broken ceramic insulators all over the street. The police swiftly blocked the road while the street department erected signs and traffic cones warning of the hazard ahead.
That same day many drivers considered themselves above all of this and proceeded to move signs and cones and drive through. Some even drove down the side walk. I saw a string of eight cars going past, in spite of all the warning.
I wonder who these people will try to sue when they are injured, electrocuted or at the very least their tires are flat?
