The TinCaps struggled at the plate and on the mound, falling to Beloit 8-3 Friday in front of 6,846 fans at Parkview Field.

Key hit: Nate Roberts had a two-run double in the fourth inning to give the Snappers a 6-2 lead. The hit knocked Fort Wayne pitcher Colin Rea out of the game. Rea allowed six runs, five earned, and four hits in three innings.

Key stat: The TinCaps had chances early on offense, but couldn't come through with the timely hit. Fort Wayne was 4 for 14 with runners in scoring position.
