Voices of Unity Choir second in gospel

The Voices of Unity Youth Choir placed second in the gospel category of the World Choir Games in Cincinnati, the group's tour manager Dee Williams said Friday night.

The Fort Wayne choir earned 88.25 points, not enough to beat the Jeremy Winston Choral of Wilberforce University which earned 88.5 points, Chambers said.

The Jeremy Winston Choral won the grand champion prize, while Voices of Unity received a gold medal for earning between 80 and 100 points, she said.

The Voices of Unity Youth Choir was the world champion in the gospel category at the 2010 games in Shaoxing, China. And despite the fact that few of those veterans are still with the group, it hoped to win the title again.
