Two rural Fremont men face multiple theft and burglary charges in connection with ATV and gas-can thefts in Steuben County.

Twenty-nine gas cans were stolen from boats on several Steuben County lakes, the county sheriff's department said in a statement.

It said Seth James Pocock, 19, and Jason Christopher Firestone, 18, first were arrested Wednesday in possession of two stolen ATVs from a burglary the week before.

In interviews, the two confessed to taking ATVs and the gas cans, the statement said.

The sheriff's office and the Clear Lake Police Department will work to return the gas cans to the owners. The stolen ATVs and a dirt bike have been returned, the statement said.
