Fort Wayne woman dies after crashing into tree

A Fort Wayne woman died Saturday after crashing into a tree on the city’s southeast side.

Christian Sanders had what first responders believed was a seizure before crashing into the tree in the 4900 block of South Anthony Boulevard, Fort Wayne police Spokeswoman Raquel Foster said.

Sanders, 35, later died at Lutheran Hospital from blunt force trauma and the death was ruled an accident, the Allen County Coroner’s Office said in a statement.

The crash took place just after 3 p.m. Saturday. It was the 22nd traffic fatality in Fort Wayne this year, the statement said.
