Severe thunderstorm watch issued

The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm watch until 9 p.m. Wednesday in the following Indiana counties:

Adams, Allen, Bartholomew, Blackford, Carroll, Cass, Decatur, Delaware, Fayette, Franklin, Fulton, Grant, Hamilton, Hancock, Henry, Howard, Huntington, Jay, Jennings, Johnson, Madison, Marion, Miami, Pulaski, Randolph, Rush, Shelby, Tipton, Union, Wabash, Wayne, Wells, White and Whitley.

An urban and small-stream flood advisory has been issued until 5 p.m. for the following areas:

  • Northwestern Adams County.
  • South central Allen County.
  • Northeastern Wells County.
Heavy rain of 2 to 3 inches an hour is likely south of Fort Wayne, the weather service said, noting that the storm was moving southeast about 15 mph.
