Cell videos lead to 4 molesting counts

Eldridge

Cellphone videos depicting the molesting of a young girl led to the arrest of a Fort Wayne man Wednesday.

Devonne Antonio Eldridge, 33, of the 2500 block of North Wells Street, was booked into the Allen County Jail on four preliminary counts of child molesting. His bail was set at $200,000.

According to an Allen Superior Court probable cause affidavit, discovery of the incriminating videos began with an accusation that Eldridge took a picture of a 6-year-old girl in April.

After Eldridge’s phone was confiscated, a Fort Wayne police detective found no such picture. Instead, the detective found videos of a man molesting a girl multiple times, according to the affidavit.

Eldridge was identified on the video by his attire and a rosary tattoo on one of his hands, the affidavit said.

When the girl in the videos was interviewed by a forensic nurse at the Fort Wayne Sexual Assault Treatment Center, the victim told detectives of many occasions when she had been molested.
