Fatal crash backs up I-69

Indiana State Police have responded to a fatal accident in Grant County on Interstate 69 involving a truck rig, a box truck and a passenger vehicle.

Southbound I-69 is closed at the 58-mile marker, south of Marion, for the crash investigation and cleanup, state police at Peru said tonight. They said the road would be closed for about four hours.

Motorists are asked to avoid the area if possible; police described "an extensive backup" on the highway.
