The TinCaps came into Monday night on a season-best six-game winning streak.
They departed the first inning with a six-run lead.
But they squandered it all, in front of 2,140 fans at Modern Woodmen Park in Davenport, Iowa.
The Quad Cities River Bandits got three runs in the second inning, four runs in the fifth and two runs in the eighth, en route to a 9-6 victory over the TinCaps.
Fort Wayne came into the game having outscored the River Bandits 43-8 in the previous five games between the teams.
But the River Bandits’ David Bergin was 3 for 5 with a home run, three RBI and two runs. Luis Mateo also had a home run for the Quad Cities (16-14 in the second half, 51-48 overall).
Fort Wayne (18-12, 49-51) was paced offensively by Travis Whitmore, who was 2 for 4 with a run.
Tyler Stubblefield, who was selected as Midwest League Player of the Week earlier in the day, was 0 for 3 with a run and a walk. He hit .450 in six games last week, with four doubles, one home run and six RBI.
Reliever Johnny Barbato was named Pitcher of the Week, after he tossed 5 2/3 scoreless innings in three games.
He wasn’t on the mound Monday, when the TinCaps were outhit 10-7.
