Statement as issued Tuesday by the Miss Allen County Queen Scholarship Pageant:
Fort Wayne, IN – On July 22nd 2012 at 6:00pm at the Carroll High School Auditorium, in Fort Wayne, eighteen young ladies vied for the title of Miss Allen County 2012. Master of Ceremonies was Heather Herron of WANE-TV and past Miss Allen County Lindsey Carden and Paige Matteson provided entertainment. Special guests included Indiana State Fair Queen Erika Burghardt of Tippecanoe County.
Miss Allen County is run in conjunction with the Allen County Fair and is open to young women 16-20 that live or go to school in Allen County. They competed in four categories: interview, professional wear, evening wear, and on-stage question. It's an opportunity for young girls to grow, learn, and make new friends. Through the pageant, contestants learn interview and public speaking skills, poise, and above all how to have confidence in them self.
In the end, Tayler Cummings of Fort Wayne out performed her other contestants and was crowned Miss Allen County 2012. Tayler's court consists of Lauren Shank (1st Runner-up), Morgen Figel (2nd Runner-up), Victoria Roser (3rd Runner-up & Miss Congeniality), Riley Lorenzini (4th Runner-up) and Elise Maguire (Miss Photogenic).
Miss Allen County 2012, Tayler Cummings, was awarded a $1000 scholarship and a prize package valuing over $1600 that included items such as: Vera Bradley, a gold and diamond ring from Freeman Jewelers, a silver bracelet from Wills Jewelers and gift certificates to area restaurants, massages, modeling scholarships, and more.
Tayler and her court will now reign over the Allen County Fair July 24th through the 29th at the Allen County Fairgrounds on Carroll Road and will participate and volunteer events throughout the week. Next, Tayler will represent Allen County at the Indiana State Fair Queen pageant, August 17th through the 19th at the Indiana State Fairgrounds.
