Toledoan killed in van crash on U.S. 20

Police identified a 49-year-old Toledo man who was killed Sunday in a crash in Williams County, Ohio.

David P. Kirk was traveling east in a Ford Windstar minivan on U.S. 20, about two miles east of Pioneer when the crash occurred about 9 a.m., the Ohio State Highway Patrol said in a statement.

Kirk’s vehicle left the south side of the road, came back into the eastbound lane and swerved, going off the south side of the road again. The left side of the van then slammed a power pole, police said. Kirk was not wearing a seat belt and was partly ejected. Police said he died at the scene.
