Travis Whitmore coaxed a one-out single and and moved to second on Yeison Asencio's swinging bunt down the third base line. A double steal then put the runners on third and second.

Whitmore cruised in when South Bend pitcher R.J. Bradley unloaded a wild pitch, which also put Asencio on third.

With the South Bend infield drawn in, Duanel Jones nubbed a 3-2 pitch over the second baseman to give the TinCaps their second run of the inning.
