Berne city offices closing for funeral

City offices in Berne will be closed Tuesday so employees can attend the funeral of National Guard Spc. Nick Taylor, the son of Berne police Chief Tim Taylor.

Taylor, 20, was killed during an attack July 16 in Afghanistan.

Trash pickup for Tuesday also will be pushed back one day, Mayor Bill McKean said in a statement.

The funeral is at 11 a.m. at South Adams High School, with visitation from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at the high school.
