  • Balancing training as a running family
When my husband offered to pace me for the Fort4Fitness half marathon, I was worried about one thing - the potential that the stress of training might cause us to snap, nit pick or kill each other.

(From left to right) Addie Minnich (front), 15, Meghan Minnich, 19, Austin Krauss, 18, Jesse Minnich, 14, and Jarred Minnich 12, take a break in front of a fan inside of a cow pen Wednesday afternoon at the Allen County Fair.

Fore, Middle and Background

Camera: NIKON D3S

Shutter: 1/800 s

Aperture: f/4

Exposure Setting: Manual (Spot Metering)

ISO: 3200

Strobe Flash: Did Not Fire

Lens Focal Length: 29 mm

White Balance: Auto

Editor's Note: Swikar went out to the fair today. Not only did he get a ton of great photos for a gallery, but he made the really nice photo above. The kids are happy and relaxed, but what pops about this photo is its careful composition.

In the foreground, the part of the image closest to the audience, the yellow of the fan helps draw us into the picture.

The middle ground is the kids, hanging out, of course.

The background includes a cow, who is uninterested in the photo, but gives the audience a better understanding of why these kids and that fan might be in a barn in July.

Very nice work.
