TinCaps lead after 6 innings

Big two-out double by Kyle Gaedele to hike the TinCaps' lead to 4-2 going into the top of the seventh against South Bend on Friday at Parkview Field.

Just when it seemed as though South Bend reliever Jesse Darrah was settling down, having retired six straight batters, Matt Colantonio hit a two-out single to center, then came in on Gaedele's double to left center.

South Bend had gotten to within a run when it scored in the fifth. Starting Fort Wayne pitcher Colin Rea issued a one-out walk to Chris Ellison, who moved to second on an infield grounder, then scored on Tom Belza's second hit of the night.
