And Another Thing

Cool stuff

INDIANAPOLIS -- We're less than an hour away from the finish of the inaugural Rolex Grand Am race, and I have to say this: These guys might be crazier than the NASCAR guys.

I say this because the Speedway got hit by yet another storm -- there's been at least three of them sweep through this afternoon -- and nobody even blinked. Everyone just pitted and took on rain tires, and off they went, throwing up some impressive rooster tails.

So that's one thing you haven't seen much of here.

Another: Actual working headlights.

Back to the craziness, though .... just looked up and saw the No. 10 Corvette of Max Angelelli and Ricky Taylor try to pass a slower car on the outside coming off turn one, ricochet off the wall into the slower car and keep going.

This mere minutes after Memo Rojas banged doorhandles through the infield turns with the 02 car of Juan Pablo Montoya and get punted into the gravel.

Crazy.

Speaking of Montoya .... he's not the only familiar name here. His teammates, for instance, are Jamie McMurray and Scott Dixon. Scott Pruett is Rojas' co-driver. Paul Tracy's here. Sebastian Saavedra. Eliseo Salazar. Boris Said.

Heard of them?

Ben Smith's blog.
