Yo Yo yogurt to open third location, on IPFW

Yogurt On Your Own will open a third location in mid-August, on the IPFW campus.

The store will be in the Walb Student Union, though the goal will be to serve those on and off campus alike. The store will be open on weekends even though there are no classes on Sunday, says Ty Bello, owner of the Fort Wayne Yo Yo locations. The location will mark the first DIY yogurt shop in the northeast/central part of the city -- the closest otherwise is Yum Yums, which is on Maysville Road near I-469.

"We're hopeful that that will be an opportunity for the community outside of campus," Bello says.

The IPFW location will expand on existing Yo Yo products; in addition to yogurt, smoothies and shakes, the new Yo Yo will have coffee, espresso, cappuccinos, lattes, frappes and café shakes.

Bello was mum on the actual date of the opening but says it will be before classes start, which is Aug. 20.
