Shooter's Comments:
This was a team effort. Swikar Patel helped with the background and strobing ideas, Christy Keller showed off her drink-tossing skills and reporter Frank Gray provided valuable real-life info on how to throw a drink, in this case fruit juice, which (I guess) looks like sangria. We got in four tosses before we ran out of juice.
I spread old newspapers on the floor. I stood back about 15 feet from Christy and she tossed the fruit juice directly toward me. There was no plexi or plastic wrap involved. I did have a light aimed about 5 feet in front of Christy to catch the juice. I slowed the shutter speed to about 1/10th of a second and rear-synched the camera catch the flow of the juice.
