Prayer service set at slaying site

FORT WAYNE – Members of Heal the Land Prayer Services have scheduled a prayer service Saturday at the site of a July 24 homicide in Fort Wayne.

Robert Jackson Jr., 43, has been identified as the 21st homicide victim in the city and county during 2012.

The group will gather in the 3900 block of Wayne Trace at 12:15 p.m., and the service is open to the public.

Jackson was gunned down and found behind the Diplomat Apartments complex, near McMillen Park Golf Course.
