Keys to the game

Fort Wayne made six errors in a 7-4 loss to Bowling Green in front of 5,322 fans Monday at Parkview Field.

Here are the highlights.

Key hit: Drew Vettleson hit a two-run home run in the first inning for the Hot Rods. Bowling Green scored five runs in the inning.

Key out: Jace Peterson came up with the bases loaded and two outs in the seventh inning. Fort Wayne trailed by three runs. He hit a shallow fly ball to center field. Kes Carter made a nice sliding catch to end the threat.

Relief work: Chris Fetter made his first appearance out of the bullpen since Aug. 31, 2009. He pitched 3 2/3 scoreless innings, his longest outing since June 3, 2011.

Quotable:
