From a report received Tuesday morning:
Warsaw Police and the Kosciusko County Coroner's office are currently involved in a death investigation at a south side Warsaw home.
On Monday, August 6th, at 1:39 p.m., a 911 call was received to Central Dispatch of an unresponsive two year old male at the home of his baby-sitter.
Upon arrival of police and MTEMS medics, the unresponsive child was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2:13 p.m.
Warsaw detectives, Coroner's investigators and Division of Child Service personnel are investigating this matter.
An autopsy is scheduled for this afternoon at the Northeast Regional Forensic Center in Fort Wayne.
At this time, the cause and manner of death have not been conclusively determined, and the investigation continues.
The identity of the child is not being released at this time, pending notification of family and pending autopsy results.
Update: The death of the 18-month-old has been ruled an accident, according to an update from the Warsaw police issued late Tuesday afternoon.
