Frank Garces pitched five shutout innings to lead Fort Wayne to a 7-3 victory against Bowling Green in front of 5,202 fans Tuesday at Parkview Field.

Here are the highlights.

Key hit: With runners on second and third with two outs in the fourth, Jace Peterson beat out a grounder to deep in the hole to second. Kyle Gaedele and Travis Jankowski scored on the infield hit, giving the TinCaps a 6-0 lead.

Still going: Garces won for the eighth time in nine starts. … Jankowski extended his hitting streak to nine, going 2 for 4.

More hitting: Peterson had three RBI. Mike Gallic went 3 for 4 with a home run. Yeison Asencio also had three hits.
