LaOtto motorcyclist killed in crash

A LaOtto man was killed Sunday after a car pulled out in front of the man’s motorcycle in Noble County.

Darrin R. Claussen was riding his Harley-Davidson south on Indiana 3 at 5:37 p.m. when Zachary A. Lovejoy pulled out after stopping at County Road 100 South, a report from Noble County Sheriff’s Department said.

Claussen hit the front right corner of Lovejoy’s Ford Taurus and was thrown about 70 feet from the point of impact, the report said.

Police said Claussen, 42, was taken to Parkview Regional Medical Center, where he later died.

Lovejoy, 18, of Garrett, was taken to Parkview Regional Medical Center with a lower leg and knee injury. His condition was not listed in the report and he was not listed as a patient Monday evening.
