Offender rearrested on charge of kid porn

Peaver

– A convicted sex offender from New Haven is accused of possessing child pornography after a girl told police the man videotaped her going to the bathroom when the pair went fishing last month.

The girl told her mother that Bradley Peaver took pictures of her naked body when she went fishing with him. The mother called police and told them Peaver was a registered sex offender, according to a probable cause affidavit.

During an interview with police, the girl said Peaver, 34, videotaped her going to the bathroom in a weedy, wooded area near a pond. Peaver, who is known to the girl, would not let her see what was on the camera because he said there was “adult stuff” on it, court papers said.

The girl, whose age was not listed in court documents, told police Peaver didn’t bring the camera on previous fishing trips when the girl’s brother came along.

Police then obtained a search warrant for Peaver’s home and found a digital camera and storage drives that had five or more separate videos and pictures of girls younger than 16 who were engaged in sexual conduct, court papers said.

The search also uncovered about 6 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, court records said.

Peaver served less than six months in prison in 2011 after pleading guilty to failure to register as a sex offender.

In 2009, there were 15 family members and friends who asked for leniency when Peaver was sentenced to two years in prison after a jury convicted him of child exploitation for filming a naked 6-year-old girl.

Police arrested Peaver on Monday on preliminary charges of possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia and five counts of possession of child pornography. He is being held in the Allen County Jail in lieu of $250,000 bail.
