And Another Thing

A new Man(ning)

Can't believe the national TV boys whiffed on this one.

I mean, really, the only meaningful preseason game ever played -- Peyton Manning's debut as a Bronco -- and, unless you have NFL RedZone, you won't see it on TV. Instead, ESPN's giving us Packers-Chargers -- which is OK, I suppose, but really, who cares?

Manning in Broncos' blue-and-orange is the main attraction tonight, and anyone with a working brain knows it. If it were on one of the major networks, half of America would tune in to see one of two things:

1. Peyton Manning's head fall off, or

2. Peyton Manning appearing as "Peyton Manning," and not, you know, just some old guy with a bum neck.

The shock value of seeing No. 18 in something other than a horseshoe helmet would be draw enough alone, even if it's going to be a near out-of-body experience for those of us who've followed the Colts in the Manning era. Personally, I'm going looking for a sports bar that carries NFL RedZone.

This I can't miss.
