Statement as issued Friday by the Indiana Department of Workforce Development:

INDIANAPOLIS (August 10, 2012) – All Ft. Wayne Navistar employees and on-site leased employees at the 2911 Meyer Road and the 3033 Wayne Trace locations who have been laid-off since January 30, 2010, or are facing the prospect of a lay-off are strongly encouraged to attend an important orientation meeting regarding Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) eligibility and benefits. The newly improved and expedited TAA process and information regarding what programs workers can take advantage of will be discussed. Orientation sessions are scheduled for Thursday, August 16, 2012, at 10 a.m., 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. at the American Legion Hall, Post 330, which is located at 330 Entrance Drive in New Haven.

Recently the U.S. Department of Labor announced all Ft. Wayne Navistar employees and on-site leased workers are eligible for federal TAA benefits due to Navistar production transfers. TAA benefits range from training and education aid, income support, health insurance assistance, to job search and relocation allowances.
