Denied a chance to tie Thursday night's game in the late innings due to rain - a game they lost by two runs, the TinCaps didn't take any chances Friday.
A three-run home run by Lee Orr in the fourth inning opened the gates to a 9-3 blowout of West Michigan on Friday before 7,289 fans at Parkview Field.
The TinCaps trailed West Michigan (23-24, 59-58) by two runs in the bottom of the seventh Thursday. With the tying runs on base, the game was called due to rain.
Orr's home run erased a 1-0 West Michigan lead, and the TinCaps (28-19, 59-58) poured it on with two runs in the sixth, two in the seventh and one more in the eighth when Duanel Jones hit a home run into left field. His moment was interrupted, however, when he tripped over first base.

Along with Orr, Yeison Asencio was a big part of the Fort Wayne offense, going 3 for 4, with two runs scored and two RBI, including a two-run double in the seventh inning.
The TinCaps open a six-game road trip Saturday, beginning with a three-game series at Dayton. They'll visit Lansing for three games before returning home Aug. 18 against Dayton.
