TinCaps losing after 3 innings

Since giving up back-to-back hits in the first inning, TinCaps starter James Needy has settled down, as Fort Wayne trails West Michigan 1-0 through three innings tonight at Parkview Field.

Chad Wright led off the first with a hustle double into short right-center, moved to third on a single by Brandon Loy, then came in on a ground out.

Since then, Needy has allowed just one hit and struck out three.

The TinCaps, meanwhile, have been picked off first base twice by West Michigan left-hander Kyle Ryan. Mike Gallic was picked off first in the first inning, and Travis Jankowski was picked off in the third.

Those two have accounted for the only Fort Wayne hits.
