New Thai and sushi restaurant on city's southwest side

Another sushi restaurant has joined the scene in Fort Wayne.

Bangkok Thai Restaurant and Sushi Bar opened last week at 6735 W. Jefferson Blvd., next to Moe's Southwest Grill.

The restaurant's Thai specialty is its pad Thai, says Maung Wan, a waiter at the restaurant, a dish that includes stir-fried rice noodles with eggs, fish sauce and peanuts.

So far, Bangkok's best-selling sushi rolls have been the Bangkok Special Roll, which features tuna, salmon, eel avocado and crab topped with tuna, shrimp, spicy sauce and eel sauce; and the President Roll, which has double eel, crab and avocado topped with eel, masako (fish eggs), spicy sauce and eel sauce.

The restaurant offers sit-down and carry-out service, as well as $7.99 lunch specials daily.

The space that currently houses Bangkok Thai was formerly the meal-preparation center Supper Thyme USA, which was open from 2005 to 2008.
