The Northeastern Indiana Kennel Club is hosting the event between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., and the club will present dog shows at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., according to its website.

Whisker Wag'n and adoption animals from Animal Care & Control will take part, the city agency said in a statement.

Dogs that go can receive a free ID ME pet tag engraved with the owner’s personal contact information from Animal Care & Control.

The Allen County SPCA and the kennel club will offer $10 microchipping for each dog, the announcement said.

Adoptable animals will be available to meet from 10 rescue organizations, the Allen County SPCA and Animal Care & Control adoption center. No dogs will go home with new owners that day.

More than 30 dog groups are taking part, the kennel club said on its website, www.neikc.org.

Demonstrations will include local obedience clubs in agility and obedience, and K-9 units from city, county and state police.
