Ex-boyfriend accused of stalking, shooting gun

Lawson

A woman filed 17 different police reports in the past year that detailed theft, vandalism and repeated harassment against her, her family and her friends by her ex-boyfriend James E. Lawson, according to court documents charging Lawson with stalking.

The woman told police in September that Lawson fired a rifle into a home where she was, according to a probable cause affidavit.

Police said Lawson went to a home where his ex-girlfriend was in May and demanded to talk to her. When another man went to the door to see what Lawson wanted, Lawson is accused of pointing a loaded shotgun at the man, court papers said.

Police arrested Lawson, 21, of the 6100 block of Blue Spruce Court, on Tuesday and he is charged with criminal recklessness, pointing a firearm and two counts of stalking.

He was being held at the Allen County Lockup in lieu of $35,000 bail.
