TinCaps rout Lansing

Austin Hedges led the way for the TinCaps, who racked up 15 hits in a 9-1 road victory overLansingon Wednesday night.

Hedges was 4 for 5 with a home run and two RBI for the TinCaps, who improved to 30-21 in the second half of the Midwest League season.

Jace Peterson, Lee Orr, Travis Whitmore and Kyle Gaedele all had multiple hits for Fort Wayne, which also limited the Lugnuts (27-22) to seven hits.

Fort Wayne’s Colin Rea (5-7) pitched five innnings, giving up one run and four hits, while striking out five and walking two. Chris Fetter and Luis De La Cruz completed the game for Fort Wayne, 61-60 on the season.

Lansing, which played in front of 3,942 fans, is 74-44 overall.

Pitcher Daniel Sarria was placed on the disabled list, retroactive to Saturday, by the TinCaps. Also put on the DL was infielder Duanel Jones, retroactive to Sunday.

Sarria, 24, is 0-0 with a 10.45 ERA in 10 games. Jones, 19, is batting .225 with five home runs and 38 RBI in 99 games.

Infielder Tyler Stubblefield was reinstated from the DL. Infielder Connor Powers, who had been on the DL withLakeElsinore, was transferred toFort Wayneand activated.

Stubblefield, 24, was hitting .267 with five home runs and 24 RBI in 67 games.

Powers, 24, hit .239 with 10 home runs and 50 RBI in 96 games withLakeElsinore. He played last year with the TinCaps, batting .338 with eight home runs and 45 RBI.
