Ron Patterson, a shooting guard from Broad Ripple High School, will not attend Indiana this year, according to multiple reports. Patterson is a three-star recruit, according to Rivals.com. He was ranked the No. 131 player in the country, according to Rivals.com.
The Indianapolis Star reported Patterson did not meet all of his academic requirements in summer school and that his options include transferring to another four-year school or a prep school.
"We think very highly of Ron and will continue to work with him as allowed to help him reach his goals," IU coach Tom Crean said in a statement. "He has the chance to do some special things for himself and his family and we will be supportive of whatever he chooses to do."
Indiana is at 13 scholarships this season, the maximum allowed by the NCAA.
