AT THE LIBRARY:

•Allen County Public Library, 900 Library Plaza, will have “Beyond the Talking Head” at 5 p.m. Thursday in the Young Adults Services.

•The Dupont branch, 536 E. Dupont Road, will have “Manic Monday: Duct Tape” at 4 p.m. Monday.

•The Georgetown branch, 6600 E. State Blvd., will have “8:16 Crafts: Make Your Own Bobblehead” Wednesday. For times, call 421-1320.

CITY CHOSEN: The Indiana Arts Commission has announced that Fort Wayne is one of eight communities approved for the second phase of the agency’s Vibrant Communities cultural planning consultancy project.

CLASSES/WORKSHOPS:

•“Making Our Summer” TekVenture Maker Station at the Library will offer a free session on “Vacuum Factory: Design & Make Molds” Saturday and “EggBot: Spherical Digital Graphics,” “The Digital Artist” and “Mini Machining: Drilling & Boring” Wednesday at the Allen County Public Library, 900 Library Plaza. FUNDRAISER: Sculptures “Rapturous” and “Natalia” by local artist Greg Mendez will be featured during the Decatur Sculpture Walk Thursday. The event will begin with an artist lecture at 2 p.m. at the Adams Public Library, the unveiling at 6 p.m. followed by the Taste of Decatur. Maps will guide visitors to the sculpture locations. VIDEO CONTEST: The Indiana Data Center will sponsor a ConnectED video contest for Indiana high school students. The winner of the contest will be announced in the spring of 2013. Teachers and students may go to www.inddc.com for information.
