Ohio officers nab 7 to crack marijuana ring

Stryker, Ohio, is the distribution center for marijuana operations in Williams, Putman and Defiance counties, the Multi Area Narcotics Unit in northwest Ohio announced Thursday.

Seven northwest Ohio residents were arrested as part of an investigation, officials with the drug unit said.

The drug unit has been investigating the operation for months, sending officers to Houston last week to work with local, state and federal authorities, officials said.

In Houston, investigators seized 40 pounds of marijuana, a large amount of cash and several guns and arrested a Houston resident, officials said.

After returning to Ohio, officers arrested seven people on charges of dealing marijuana and engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity.

Their cases will be presented to a Williams County grand jury this month.

Brandon Taylor, 26, Carl Blankenship, 37, and Matthew Randolph, 35, all of Stryker; Lon W. Miller, 61, Angela Saman, 45, and Sean Oehler, 34, all of the Defiance area; and Darissa Mann, 20, of Sherwood.

Additional arrests and charges are pending, officials said.

A Fort Wayne man is accused of fondling a 15-year-old girl six different times.

Myat Min, 34, was charged Thursday with sexual misconduct with a minor.

The abuse started in September 2010, and the episodes of unwanted contact occurred occasionally until this month, court documents said.

Myat Min, of the 1800 block of Hobson Road, posted a $10,000 bond to be released Thursday from the Allen County Jail.
