Shooter's Comments:
It was a quick scramble to take photos during Eid-ul-Fitr celebration at the Plex Sunday. I was told that the celebration went from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., so I assumed that 10 a.m. would be a great time to go. This was wrong and I should have investigated the Eid celebration activity schedule more. Eid-ul-Fitr is a Muslim holiday that marks the end of Ramadan. When I arrived a little before 10 a.m., people were leaving the Plex. This is a bad sign when you are planning on covering an event.
I took as many photos as I could with the people who were still at the celebration. I really wish I had arrived an hour earlier.
I managed enough shots for a gallery which can be viewed on the Journal Gazette website. I also manage to get there before television, who arrived half an hour later when the last five people were leaving.
I am looking forward to redeeming myself by covering the next Muslim celelbration Eid al-Adha, the "festival of sacrifice."
