TinCaps cut deficit in half

Dayton leads Fort Wayne 4-2 after six innings Tuesday at Parkview Field.

The TinCaps scored twice in the sixth inning. Lee Orr knocked in Mike Gallic with a double to left field.

The hit put runners on second and third with two outs. With Austin Hedges up, Wes Mugarian threw a wild pitch. Travis Whitmore scored when catcher Yovan Gonzalez's throw to the plate got away from Mugarian. Orr also attempted to score, but Dayton first baseman Nick O'Shea was backing up on the play. He picked up the ball and threw it to Mugarian, who placed the tag on Orr for the final out.
