Contents in a basement ignited Monday night and the fire damaged a home at 2121 Riedmiller Ave., according to a Fort Wayne Fire Department report.
Firefighters were called to the home about 11:20 p.m. and found smoke coming from the basement, the report said. No one was in the home, and firefighters had the blaze under control in eight minutes.
The home had moderate fire, water and smoke damage, the report said. There were no injuries.
The fire department was assisted by Fort Wayne police officers, Three Rivers Ambulance Authority, AEP and the city utilities.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, the report said.
