And Another Thing

Penn State CYA 101

I know what Graham Spanier's up to here. If he and his suits can discredit the Freeh Report (Again: A report commissioned by Penn State itself), he can maybe avoid an indictment for aiding and abetting a raging pedophile.

But ... please. These people need to just shut up already. Every time they open their mouths they make themselves look worse, because there's simply no way they can credibly justify their actions (or inactions, as the case may be) in letting Jerry Sandusky run loose on their campus for a decade.

Case in point: When Spanier's lawyer argues that Spanier had no idea of the sexual nature of Sandusky's dealings with young boys, saying all he heard about was "horseplay," he's hardly helping his client much. We still wind up with a situation that should have been dealt with and wasn't.

I mean, really? A grown man engaging in "horseplay" with a pre-adolescent boy doesn't send up any red flags? How obtuse can you be?

And how clueless are these people that they keep trying to exonerate themselves?
