Choking hazard: CareBears Pacifiers recalled

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with IDM Group LLC, today announced a voluntary recall CareBears Pacifiers.

The pacifiers made in China fail to meet federal safety standards, the recall notice issued Thursday said.

It said the nipples can separate from the base, posing a choking hazard to young children. No injuries have been reported.

They were sold at discount and dollar stores from October 2009 through June 2012 for about $1.

Adults should immediately take any recalled pacifiers away from infants and contact IDM Group LLC for instructions on returning the product for a full refund. Call 212-686-5221 or visit the company’s recall web site at www.pacifierrecall.net.
