Area drug raid nets meth, pot, 1 arrest

A search of an Angola home Thursday yielded methamphetamine and more than 2 1/2 pounds of marijuana, according to the Steuben County Sheriff’s Department.

About 11:30 a.m., officers raided a residence at 207 N. Superior St. and found the drugs, along with various types of drug paraphernalia.

Leroy G. Blankenship III, 59, of Angola was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of possession of paraphernalia and three felony charges: meth possession, marijuana possession and maintaining a common nuisance.

Blankenship was being held on $17,500 bail.
