Virtual public hearing on raw milk ends this week

Statement as issued Monday by the Indiana State Board of Animal Health:

INDIANAPOLIS (27 August 2012) – This is the last week for Hoosiers to submit their comments about the sale of raw milk in Indiana. The Indiana State Board of Animal Health opened a “virtual public hearing” on June 1 to gather input from the public without the geographic and time limitations of a traditional public hearing.

The “Virtual Public Hearing” will close on September 1. This is the public’s last chance to submit comments for or against the sales of raw milk, as well as suggestions for any potential change to Indiana law. Those who submit comments must provide a name and contact information, in case follow up is needed.

The virtual public hearing webpage is accessible at www.boah.in.gov by clicking on the “What’s New” link or the main banner until September 1. Those without internet capabilities are welcome to submit comments by U.S. Mail to BOAH at Discovery Hall, Suite 100; 1202 E. 38th Street; Indianapolis, IN 46205-2898; Attn: Raw Milk Comments.
