An Albion woman died early Monday morning in a mobile home fire, but her husband and two children escaped.
The Albion Fire Department was called to Lot 13 of the 7th Street Mobile Home Park at 5:09 a.m. and found half of the trailer engulfed in flames, Chief Tim Lock said.
The man and two children were outside the home when firefighters arrived, but the woman was still inside, Lock said.
Jennifer Murphy, 40, died of smoke inhalation and her death was ruled an accident, Noble County Coroner Dr. Terry Gaff said.
The fire was under control by 5:24 a.m., and the trailer was a complete loss.
Lock said the father and children were taken to a hospital for observation.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Indiana fire marshal, but Lock said the fire was not suspicious in nature.
The American Red Cross was called in to assist the surviving family members, Lock said.
