Landon Feichter, a Bishop Dwenger graduate, is listed as a starter at strong safety for Purdue for Saturday's game against Eastern Kentucky.
Purdue coach Danny Hope thinks Feichter will help the Boilermakers against both the pass and the rush.
"He's very, very fast. He plays fast and practices fast. He's extremely wide open," Hope saud during his weekly teleconference Tuesday. "He's one of our more aggressive players. He likes the contact part and physical part of football.
"I think he's really good against the pass. He's smart. He does a great job with his reads. He knows where he's supposed to be the majority of the time. He's courageous. He'll break on the ball. He does a fantastic job of fighting and scrapping for every inch and fighting and scrapping for the football. I think he's a good safety. From a pass defensive standpoint and also from a runstopping standpoint."
