2 hold woman captive, rob credit union

FORT WAYNE – A woman who works for a credit union on the city's northeast side was ambushed at home Monday after work, blindfolded, tied up and then forced to her workplace after dark, Fort Wayne police said Tuesday.

Police were called to Freedom Financial Federal Credit Union, 1802 Inwood Drive, at 9:33 p.m. and found the woman there. No injuries were reported.

Police said the two robbers stole her car, a grey Chevrolet Impala, then dumped it at Manford Street and Fruehauf Drive, north of McMillen Park.

Anyone who was in that area Monday evening and who might have witnessed any activity that could be related to this investigation is asked to contact the Fort Wayne Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 800-237-7867. A cash reward is possible for information received at Crime Stoppers, police said.

No suspect descriptions were immediately available, but a statement from police said detectives are hoping video will offer more information about the robbers.
