TinCaps win, lead wild card by 2

Tyler Stubblefield had three doubles, two RBI and two runs scored for Fort Wayne in a 10-4 victory against West Michigan in front of 7,760 fans Thursday at Parkview Field.

The TinCaps opened up a two-game lead over West Michigan for the Eastern Division's wild card. There are four games left in the regular season.

Lake County remains at the top among teams eligible for the second half. The Captains defeated Bowling Green 11-4. Lake County holds a two-game lead over Fort Wayne.

Lansing and Bowling Green qualified for the playoffs in the first half.

Travis Whitmore had three singles, two runs scored and one RBI.

Yeison Asencio, Duanel Jones and Kyle Gaedele each had two hits for Fort Wayne.

The final game of the series is Friday. The winner of the contest also wins the season series, which serves as the first tie-breaker for the playoffs.
