NBC says the big guy behind the cartoon comedy “Family Guy” will guest host the season’s first “Saturday Night Live.”

The network announced Wednesday that Seth MacFarlane will be presiding when “SNL” begins its 38th season Sept. 15. Musical guest will be Frank Ocean.

The multitalented MacFarlane created the Fox series “Family Guy” and is writer, producer and voice artist on the show. He recently directed his first feature film, “Ted,” and furnished the voice for its teddy-bear title character.

On Sept. 22, actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt will host with musical guest Mumford & Sons. Actor Daniel Craig will headline the show Oct. 6 with band Muse.

ACA hosts return

Country star Trace Adkins and entertainer Kristin Chenoweth are returning as hosts of the American Country Awards.

This is the third year for the awards show. It will air in December on Fox from Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.

The pair hosted the show together last year.

Nominees, performers and a show date will be announced soon.

McBride to visit

Country star Martina McBride will appear on “Good Morning America” in support of her friend Robin Roberts.

McBride will visit with the “GMA” host and sing her Grammy-nominated song “I’m Gonna Love You Through It” during the 8 a.m. hour Thursday.

Roberts announced this week that Friday will be her last day before starting an extended medical leave for treatment of MDS, a blood and bone marrow disease once called preleukemia.

She appeared in McBride’s video for “I’m Gonna Love You Through It” last year along with cancer survivors and Hoda Kotb, Katie Couric and Sheryl Crow.
