The body of Thomas Haskins was a day away from being cremated – and his closest kin didn’t even know he was dead.A 42-year-old Steuben County woman has been arrested on a charge of battery to a child under 14 years of age causing injury.
The county sheriff’s department issued a statement that said Jody K. Dyer of rural Angola was arrested just before 12:30 p.m. Thursday.
It said the battery was reported to have occurred late Monday at a rural Jackson Township residence.
Dyer was being held in the Steuben County Jail without bond pending an initial court appearance.
