Keys to the game

Robert Marve threw three touchdowns to lead Purdue to a 48-6 victory against Eastern Kentucky in front of 40,572 fans Saturday at Ross-Ade Stadium.

Here are the highlights.

Touchdowns… : Marve completed 30 of 38 passes for 295 yards in place of Caleb TerBush, who served a one-game suspension. He threw touchdown passes to Gary Bush, Antavian Edison and Gabe Holmes. Rob Henry was 7 of 9 for 77 yards and one touchdown in his return after missing all last season with a knee injury.

… And turnovers: Marve and Henry both had one interception. Purdue also lost three fumbles.

Big pick: Landon Feichter intercepted a pass and returned it 34 yards for a touchdown in the first quarter to extend Purdue's lead to 13-0. It was the Bishop Dwenger graduate's first interception and touchdown with the Boilermakers.

Few flags: Purdue had three penalties for 15 yards.

Coming through: Purdue went 12 of 15 on third downs.

Still going: Edison has had at least one catch in 22 straight games.

Quotable:

"That is something special, something you dream about. The coaches put me in a great position to come out and execute the play that was called. … I just kind of ran (after the interception) and hoped I wouldn't trip."

- Feichter
