    WEST LAFAYETTE - Purdue basketball fans' stress level has been eased somewhat after 7-foot center A.J. Hammons announced Wednesday afternoon that he will return for his junior season after considering entering the NBA Draft.

    WEST LAFAYETTE – Purdue has signed a high school point guard from Indianapolis after two-year starter Ronnie Johnson decided to transfer.

    Purdue women's basketball forward Liza Clemons, a former Elmhurst and Snider standout, is one of four recipients of the Brady Sports Achievement Award, which honors Indiana student-athletes who have overcome injury or hardship.

Purdue opens big lead at halftime

Robert Marve has two touchdown passes as Purdue leads Eastern Kentucky 34-6 at halftime Saturday at Ross-Ade Stadium.

Marve completed 17 of 22 passes for 190 yards. He has one interception. Purdue has turned the ball over three times (two interceptions, one fumble).

The Boilermakers also picked off two passes. Landon Feichter returned an interception 34 yards for a touchdown.

Akeem Shavers and Kurt Freytag rushed for touchdowns.

Eastern Kentucky's Cameron Bailey, who is from Fort Wayne, has four catches for 49 yards.
